A UTS FlexPlay Attraction Format

FLOORIUM – THE INTERACTIVE FLOOR

Turn the Floor Into an Interactive Play Zone

A projected floor reacts to steps, jumps and hand movements, letting whole groups join and leave freely without waiting for a turn.

What is Floorium?

Floorium is one of the attraction formats available for UTS FlexPlay, and the only one that uses the floor instead of the wall. An animated scene is projected onto the floor surface and reacts to steps, jumps and hand movements.

Because the play area is horizontal and open on all sides, a whole group can enter it at once and children can join or leave mid-session without waiting for a turn. This is what makes Floorium the format venues choose for large, continuously busy spaces — a floor zone keeps a crowd moving where a wall attraction would create a queue.

It works in indoor playgrounds, shopping mall play zones, schools and development centers, museums and rehabilitation facilities. It also complements a FlexPlay wall installation, giving the same room two separate interactive surfaces.

What Makes Floorium Different

A Whole Group Plays at Once

The floor area is open on every side, so children join and leave without waiting for a turn — the format that handles peak-hour crowds without a queue.

A Second Surface in the Same Room

A floor zone works alongside a FlexPlay wall installation, letting one space run two different attractions and split visitors between them.

Entertainment and Structured Lessons

The same floor runs drop-in play during busy hours and guided educational or therapy sessions when a group is booked in.

Real Games on Floorium

Floor Game Modes & Large Game Area

Each game mode features unique gameplay and art and you can configure difficulty and other game settings. Thus, you get great replayability and the games they are easy to manage and remember.

We use depth sensors such as Kinect 2 thanks to which we develop novel game mechanics. Our games detect steps, leg swings, hand motion, squats, leaps, use of AR markers and much more. This adds many useful, diverse and thrilling entertainment and educational features.

Beautiful 3D Graphics

There's no compromise — your interactive floor must look fancy, even exuberant! Each mode looks like a Hollywood animation story, creating a strong wow factor not only for kids but also for adults.

We have a tightly knit in-house team of 3D artists, game designers and developers who work hard to create new entertainment and education modes bringing their boldest ideas to life.

Easy to Use Controls

Easy to Use

Use the tablet included with Floorium to manage your interactive floor: configure its settings, start games and educational modes and change their options. The tablet is very convenient so we have been using it for over 6 years already.

Apart from the tablet, Floorium includes an aero mouse with a built-in keyboard. These control devices are mostly used by teachers or facilitators but students and kids can use them as well since there is password protection for system settings.

Part of UTS FlexPlay

Floorium can be selected as the starting FlexPlay format or added next to a wall installation to create a second interactive surface in the same room.

Unlike switching between compatible wall formats, adding Floorium is a separate floor setup with its own projection direction and calibration. Floorium is not part of Magic Wall 3-in-1.
