Floorium — the AR interactive floor that brings spaces to life

Floorium is augmented-reality (AR) equipment. The play area recognizes people’s movements and responds instantly: “splashes” flare up, “notes” light up, levels change, points are scored. No handheld controllers, no complicated interfaces — you simply move across the floor while a digital layer augments reality and turns it into a game, a lesson, or an attraction.

What it’s for — and who it’s for

One system, many scenarios. In kindergartens and schools, Floorium helps teach counting, logic, and music while building coordination and attention. In rehab and physical-therapy rooms it adds motivation to repetitive drills: step, hit the target, score a point — and you want to keep going. In museums and libraries it makes exhibitions interactive and low-barrier — children and adults jump in equally easily. In commercial venues — malls, family entertainment centers, hotels, cafés — Floorium works as a guest magnet and a ready-made program of activities.

In short, it’s a tool for engagement. It handles educational, entertainment, and event tasks equally well — and it brings people together, because most sessions turn into collaborative play.

How it works under the hood

An AR module is mounted above the area: sensors see movements from multiple players, the system interprets gestures, and overlays an interactive layer onto the real surface. Control is straightforward — a scene library on a tablet or PC. You pick a game, set round duration and difficulty, and, if needed, enable “learning accents” like counting or matching.

Modes and games — from sports to music

The library includes many ready-to-use scenes. There’s fast action — Soccer for quick plays, musical Beat Lighter, and zippy Funny Pool. There are learning formats: Magic Numbers for addition/subtraction, Picture Match for memory training, Piano — giant keys you can play with your feet. There are cooperative stories — Hungry Frogs or Floor Air Balloons, where coordination wins. Fans of classics will like Arkanoid and Tic Tac Toe, while Dino Park, Sea Battle, Riviera, and Summer Mood offer immersion and exploration.

A practical bonus for teachers or facilitators is flexibility: the same scene can be tuned calm for younger kids or energetic for teens and corporate teams.

Why educators and therapists value it

Floorium covers three task groups at once.

Cognitive — counting, classification, attention, memory.

Motor — coordination, balance, spatial orientation.

Social — teamwork and healthy competition. Engagement isn’t a side effect here — it’s the core mechanic: kids repeat movements because the environment responds instantly. That makes it easier to hold attention and to return to exercises again and again.

Supply options (as listed on the site)

UTS offers several models so the system fits both your tasks and your space.

Base Software. The Floorium software package for teams that already have compatible hardware and want to add AR scenes and the game library.

Sensor Package. A set of sensors with software to integrate into an existing multimedia setup — when you already have a projector/PC but need “vision” for the area.

Enhanced Kit. An extended bundle for rapid rollout without long approvals: everything required to get a working system up quickly.

Full Set. A complete turnkey configuration — a solid choice for schools, museums, and FECs where stability, service, and single responsibility matter.

Adaptive X. An advanced bundle for non-standard conditions: large areas, high ambient light, special installation and operations requirements.

Which to choose? Bright, high-traffic halls typically call for Full Set or Adaptive X. If you already have infrastructure, look at Base Software or Sensor Package. Need a fast start by a fixed date? Enhanced Kit shines.

Installation and day-to-day operation

Setup is quick: the AR module is mounted above the area (or placed on a mobile stand), then calibrated. Hardware stays out of the touch zone — you don’t have to guard it from active players. Maintenance is minimal: keep software up to date and re-calibrate if you relocate the system. Age limits, round length, and activity intensity are scene settings — a matter of a few clicks.

Content and updates

The system ships with a scene library you can expand with themed packs — educational, sports, entertainment. UTS releases updates: new games, better recognition algorithms, smoother control. For venues, that means the content stays fresh and visitors want to come back.

Why Floorium

Because it delivers a live AR experience without complex devices, with simple controls and real games — not just pretty effects. It scales — from a small kids’ room to a school gym or a museum gallery. Most importantly, Floorium makes space engaging: people stop being spectators and become participants.

If you’re considering an AR interactive floor, tell us about your venue — we’ll recommend a model, prepare a budget and an installation plan, and arrange a demo.
