This mode introduces students to the concept of the Earth’s rotation and lets them explore natural phenomena associated with certain times of the day. In this mode, children learn about the Sun and the Moon and other celestial bodies through hands- on approach, i. e. by building them from sand. The projections of day and night can be displayed in the sandbox either separately or simultaneously. Thus, kids can compare the two times of the day. The Sun and the Moon appear in the projection when sand is piled up in the respective areas.
